What is my name in NZSL? SLJ Task

Kia Ora everyone and welcome back to my blog. Today I did the task of making a video of me reciting my name in sign language. Here is my video of me saying my name in New Zealand Sign Language. What languages can you speak?

  1. Kia ora Patrick,

What an awesome video – I love the background track 🙂

Fabulous work on signing your name. It was great to see you changing up your letter T and signing that the right way around good on you for noticing.

I sadly have never learnt a language. At high school I learnt to speak German and from all of that time, because I never used it, I can only remember how to say ‘I hate milk’ which was true then but is no longer. I also tried to learn French before traveling there a few years ago. I use to be able to introduce myself and tell you I was a teacher. As is often said though if you don’t use it you lose it very quickly.

How about you, do you speak another language or is there one that you would like to learn?

    Thanks

    1. Kia Ora Theresa! Patrick here.

Thank you for your comment. I do know how to speak German and the Cebuano dialect of the Philippines. At the moment I am learning Polish, Korean and New Zealand Sign Language.

Have you been to Germany before?

      Goodbye!
      Patrick

      1. Wow Patrick, that is super interesting and so talented. How have you come to speak so many languages? I’d love to know more – Which was the hardest to learn, the easiest, which is the most fun to speak. How and why are you learning Polish, Korean and NZSL?

I have sadly not been to Germany. I had a friend who moved over there in 2018 and some of us were meant to go see her at the beginning of 2020 before covid hit. Sadly we didn’t make it over and she has now moved home. She lived in Berlin for 3 years and loved it because she got to play lots of music touring with her band.

Thanks for sharing look forward to talking soon
        Theresa
